The Centre for Food Innovation Tasmania will build food focused research capability and capacity

The Centre for Food Innovation Tasmania (CFI) is a research collaboration between the University of Tasmania (UTAS), CSIRO’s Division of Animal, Food and Health Sciences and the Australian Government’s Defence Science and Technology Organisation.

Key objectives for the CFI are to build food-focussed research capability and capacity through collaborative projects; and to increase the engagement between industry and research & technology providers through new research, education and training programs.

The partners envisage that early CFI projects will be to develop new products and processes for enhancing the performance of the defence forces, as well as working with the food industry to develop and commercialise these products and processes.

RDS Partners is the project manager for the establishment of the CFI.
