Organisational review and development
RDS Partners was engaged to conduct a review of the governance and management arrangements as Rural Alive and Well Inc (RAW) negotiated the transition from start-up to a maturing, state-wide organisation.
We examined the governance and management structures, interviewed staff and stakeholders and analysed how the organisation could improve the work of supporting the outreach team.
Our understanding of not-for-profit governance and management imperatives, as well as the realities of personal community service delivery allowed us to provide RAW with a grounded assessment of their current situation and practical, realistic recommendations for their short to medium term future.
By articulating their strengths and getting a focus on areas for improvement, we provided a strong basis for the Board to firm up its funding base and better manage its potential operational risks.
Since this work was undertaken, Rural Alive and Well has continued to provide important support across the state, raising awareness and understanding about suicide and providing direct support to people at risk of suicide.
