Communities for Children, (Burnie) is a collaboratively managed family support program founded on community development principles. It provides programs that focus on building positive family relationships and protective factors in vulnerable families.
In this program evaluation project, RDS Partners developed an evidence-based, outcomes-oriented evaluation framework, developed a community profile and designed interview and survey tools that map the impact and outcomes for families. Guided by ethical research principles, we conduct interviews with potentially vulnerable participants, on potentially sensitive topics, and provide annual informed independent analysis.
We also provide program staff with reflective reports designed to support reflective practice and program development and are developing a visual analysis and reporting framework that is deepening our capacity to analyse and communicate impact and outcomes in the community services context.
Our evaluation is supporting the capacity for the Communities for Children model to innovate in family support and reach vulnerable families, and we’re building the potential for communicating more effectively the human truths associated with family support and positive impact.
