Fisheries Research and Development Corporation and Tasmanian aquaculture sectors
RDS Partners piloted a stakeholder-informed ‘social return on investment’ methodology in partnership with two aquaculture sectors: shellfish and salmon.
We engaged residential stakeholders in two contrasting communities in Tasmania, to identify what mattered most to them and how they perceived the impact of aquaculture on their community’s values.
We provided independent analysis taking an innovative approach to understanding social impact, and tested new ways for industry to engage more meaningfully with its stakeholders.
The project provided our partners with a deeper understanding of the strategic potential in building and maintaining a ‘social license to operate’, an insight into opportunities to grow their brand and innovate, and opportunities to create new ways of communicating and collaborating with community stakeholders.
